XRP Analyst Says JPMorgan, Ripple, Mastercard Deal Could Signal Bigger Future for XRP

Crypto Crusaders creator Levi Rietveld believes a recent transaction involving Ripple, JPMorgan’s Kinexys platform, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance could represent a major milestone for the XRP Ledger and potentially support higher XRP valuations over time.

In a recent video, Rietveld highlighted a transaction completed on May 6, 2026, which involved the redemption of tokenized U.S. Treasury assets and the settlement of funds across both blockchain and traditional banking infrastructure.

According to the analyst, the significance of the transaction extends beyond the movement of assets itself. He argues that it demonstrates how public blockchain networks and institutional financial systems can work together in a live settlement environment.

JPMorgan, Ripple And Mastercard Collaboration Draws Attention

Rietveld’s analysis focused on the growing relationship between traditional financial institutions and blockchain-based settlement networks.

He pointed to Kinexys by JPMorgan, Ripple, Mastercard, and Ondo Finance as key participants in the transaction, describing the event as an important demonstration of cross-platform interoperability.

According to Rietveld, the collaboration showed how tokenized assets can move across blockchain infrastructure while still interacting with established banking systems.

The transaction has attracted attention because it involved some of the largest names in both traditional finance and digital assets.

Tokenized Treasury Redemption Was Completed On XRPL

At the center of the transaction was Ondo Finance’s OUSG fund, a tokenized short-term U.S. Treasury product.

According to Rietveld, Ripple redeemed a portion of its OUSG holdings on the XRP Ledger, with the blockchain portion of the transaction reportedly completing in less than five seconds.

The use of XRPL for the redemption process highlights the network’s role as an on-chain settlement layer capable of supporting real-world asset transactions.

Supporters of the XRP Ledger have long argued that its speed and low transaction costs make it suitable for institutional-grade financial applications.

Mastercard And Kinexys Connected Blockchain To Traditional Finance

Following the on-chain redemption, Mastercard reportedly facilitated the fiat payment instructions through its Multi-Token Network infrastructure.

According to Rietveld, this step enabled communication between blockchain-based assets and traditional financial systems.

Kinexys by JPMorgan then processed the banking side of the settlement by debiting Ondo’s blockchain deposit and delivering U.S. dollar proceeds to Ripple’s bank account in Singapore through correspondent banking channels.

One aspect highlighted by Rietveld was that the transaction reportedly occurred outside normal banking hours, demonstrating the potential for around-the-clock settlement capabilities.

Institutional Adoption Remains The Core XRP Narrative

A major theme throughout Rietveld’s analysis was institutional adoption.

He argued that the transaction serves as a proof of concept showing how financial institutions may increasingly utilize blockchain infrastructure for settlement and asset transfers.

According to the analyst, the involvement of a major global bank, a large payment network, and a tokenized asset platform demonstrates growing confidence in blockchain-based financial infrastructure.

Rietveld believes these developments are more significant than short-term market speculation because they involve real assets and real settlement activity.

Cross-Border Payments Opportunity Drives Bullish Outlook

Rietveld connected the transaction to the broader cross-border payments industry, which processes trillions of dollars in value every day.

He argued that if even a small percentage of that activity eventually migrates onto blockchain settlement networks, transaction volumes could increase significantly.

In his view, increased institutional usage of the XRP Ledger could strengthen demand for the network and contribute to long-term growth in the XRP ecosystem.

The analyst emphasized that the May 6 transaction should be viewed as an early example of what future financial infrastructure could look like rather than as an isolated event.

XRP Price Predictions Remain Speculative

While discussing the transaction, Rietveld also referenced long-term XRP price targets, including projections significantly above current market levels.

He suggested that many investors underestimate the potential impact of institutional adoption on XRP’s future valuation.

However, such price forecasts remain speculative and depend on numerous factors, including adoption rates, regulatory developments, market conditions, and competition from other blockchain networks.

For now, the transaction has strengthened discussions about XRP’s role in tokenization, cross-border settlements, and the evolving relationship between traditional finance and blockchain technology.
