Since June 2023, Dogecoin’s Mean Dollar Invested Age (MDIA) has been consistently rising. The MDIA is a metric that measures the average age of the dollars invested in an asset. Generally, uptrends in MDIA are seen as positive as they indicate investments are becoming dormant, suggesting a holding trend.
However, if this uptrend continues for an extended period, it can raise concerns about the stagnancy of the coin’s network. Typically, drops in MDIA signal potential price rises. Therefore, the current uptrend in MDIA may be one of the factors contributing to DOGE’s struggle to appreciate in value.

Most Active DOGE Addresses in a ‘Break Even’ Position
Like the overall crypto market, Dogecoin’s price has been relatively stagnant recently. Velo Data’s numbers reveal that even on its most favorable trade day, which is typically Fridays, DOGE has not seen average returns exceeding 1.3% over a three-month period. Conversely, on its worst trade day, usually Wednesdays, deviations of no more than 1.46% have been recorded. This trend highlights how the stagnancy in the network has directly translated into price stagnancy for Dogecoin.
Regarding profitability, a significant portion of active DOGE investors have been in a break-even position for the past few months, which has contributed to their inactivity. In early June, approximately 72% of DOGE’s active addresses were at the break-even point. This situation has remained relatively unchanged over the months, with the current reading hovering around 66.67% at present.
A significant majority (32.96%) of the remaining addresses were in a loss position, while only a small fraction (0.37%) were in profit. Therefore, it is crucial for the profitability numbers to improve in order for the network to become more active and facilitate increased transactions. As a result, this could lead to a surge in volatility within the DOGE market. Currently, DOGE is trading at $0.06317, reflecting a decrease of 0.11% in the past 24 hours.
