Toncoin (TON) has experienced a 20% drop following the arrest of Telegram CEO Pavel Durov. Currently, the token trades at $5.45. Despite this decline, analysts believe TON may outperform the broader market in September.
Analyst Predicts Price Movement
Ryan Lee, Chief Analyst at Bitget Research, suggests that TON could retest the $6.5 to $7 range. However, he warns that current indicators point to a possible decline to $4.74 if the market does not improve. If buying activity increases, TON might stabilize between $5 and $6.
Market Sentiment Remains Cautiously Optimistic
Lee notes that the recent price drop does not indicate a severe crash. Instead, it mirrors Bitcoin’s (BTC) struggles to surpass the $60,000 mark. In fact, TON has outperformed Ethereum (ETH), which has dropped 24% over the past month.
Lee emphasizes that despite negative news, TON has shown considerable resilience. He attributes this to the strong unity among TON ecosystem builders and supporters. This unity has led to a noticeable absence of Fear, Uncertainty, and Doubt (FUD) on social media.
Future Performance Depends on Market Conditions
Lee believes that if no further negative developments occur in the TON ecosystem, the token may slightly outperform the general cryptocurrency market in September. He states, “If overall market sentiment improves in September, TON could perform well.”
Technical Indicators Suggest Caution

On the technical side, TON’s price performance shows potential for further decline. The token currently trades below the Ichimoku Cloud indicator, suggesting a downtrend. Additionally, TON’s Relative Strength Index (RSI) stands at 38.22, indicating strong selling pressure.

If this selling pressure continues, TON’s price could drop to $4.74. This decline would contradict Lee’s bullish projection of $6.5 to $7. Conversely, if traders begin accumulating TON, its price could rise to $5.57 and potentially reach $6.
