Solayer has rolled out a new travel booking platform built on the Solana blockchain, offering exclusive access to Emerald Card holders. The platform, named Solayer Travel, enables crypto users to book accommodations at over 1 million hotels worldwide, while enjoying savings of up to 60% compared to mainstream platforms like Booking.com and Expedia.
Exclusive Travel Deals for Crypto Card Users
In a recent press release, Solayer confirmed that Solayer Travel grants access to hotel rates typically reserved for credit card reward programs. By leveraging blockchain technology, the platform offers deep discounts previously unavailable to most cryptocurrency users.
Emerald Card holders can now enjoy these perks through a seamless travel booking experience. The Visa-backed crypto card, introduced in April 2025, enables users to deposit USD Coin (USDC) and access a suite of financial services that bridge traditional finance with Web3.
Travel Tops Emerald Card Spending Since Launch
Joshua Sum, Head of Product at Solayer, highlighted the growing popularity of the new feature:
“Since our launch on Solana, travel has already emerged as the top spending category for Emerald Card holders,” said Sum.
“By unlocking wholesale hotel rates, Solayer Travel lets our cardholders stretch the same budget into more trips, or upgrade to stays they once thought were out of reach. With this launch, we’re making Emerald Card the premier crypto travel card.”
How Solayer Travel Works
To access the platform, users must first register for an Emerald Card and complete a Know Your Customer (KYC) process. Once verified, the virtual card activates instantly and integrates with Apple Pay or Google Pay.
After depositing USDC into the card, users can begin making travel bookings directly through Solayer Travel. Payments are processed via the Visa network, ensuring fast and secure transactions. The platform also includes 24/7 customer support, with travel agents available to assist with modifications, cancellations, and general inquiries.

More Than Just Hotel Bookings
The Emerald Card already supports a wide range of features, including:
- Currency conversion
- On- and off-ramp services
- ATM withdrawals
- Wallet integrations with Apple Pay and Google Pay
With the new travel feature, cardholders can now also create sub-cards for relatives or employees. All purchases made using these sub-cards accumulate Emerald Reward Points, further enhancing the card’s utility.
A Broader Vision for 2025
Looking ahead, Solayer plans to expand Solayer Travel into a complete Web3 travel ecosystem. The roadmap for the second half of 2025 includes support for:
- Global flight bookings
- e-SIM data packages
- Airport lounge access
- Concierge services
These upcoming features aim to position Solayer as a leader in blockchain-based travel services, enhancing both accessibility and affordability for crypto-savvy travellers.
Solayer’s latest offering reflects a growing trend toward real-world utility in the crypto space. With Solana’s scalability and the Emerald Card’s integrated services, Solayer Travel stands out as a powerful bridge between decentralized finance and global travel.
