Leading Shiba Inu developer Shytoshi Kusama has disclosed that Shibarium, the much-anticipated layer-2 network for the cryptocurrency, will be released before May.
Kusama revealed this in response to a member of the Shiba Inu community who suggested that Shibarium might be made available today. According to Shiba Inu influencer Lucie’s screenshot, Shibarium is most likely to be released today.
To the remark, Kusama said, “MAY be.” However, Kusama made it clear that he was simply kidding, asserting:
May be May be We'll see when the Devs align

Shiba Inu community members responded in various ways to Kusama’s most recent comments after discovering that Shibarium may launch within the next two months.
Stop Worrying About Shibarium’s Launch in May, Says Kusama
Following the enormous response, Kusama pleaded with the public to stop worrying about the launch in May and instead offer support for Kaal Dhairya, the developer of Shiba Inu, who lost his father recently.

“How about this? Right now, Kaal is mourning his father. Let’s worry about that first,” Kusama said.
He continued by urging people to enjoy their Valentine’s Day and avoid worrying about the potential May launch of Shibarium.

Launch Date for Shibarium is not yet set
One of the most eagerly awaited initiatives in the Shiba Inu community right now is Shibarium. Given the enormous buzz around the L2 network, it makes sense that members of the Shiba Inu community have continued to look forward to the launch of Shibarium.
Despite the excitement, the project’s team has been coy about the L2 network’s launch date. Although Kusama has often stressed that it is not in Shiba Inu’s nature to disclose dates, the community is outraged that Shibarium has not been given a set date.
As was previously reported, Kusama stated that because the network is not an on/off switch, he could not provide a specific date for introducing Shibarium. The community hopes the project will launch before May as Kusama finally puts to rest the Valentine’s Day launch rumor for Shibarium.
