The Shiba Inu community had issued a significant scam alert after detecting a fraudulent campaign impersonating Bitget, a leading cryptocurrency exchange. The warning came from the X account @susbarium, which is closely affiliated with the SHIB team and actively monitors crypto scams.
SHIB Team Exposes Fake Bitget Web3 Email
According to @susbarium’s latest tweet, scammers are distributing fake emails under the name “Bitget Web3,” attempting to deceive crypto users with a fabricated BWB airdrop offer. The fraudulent emails use persuasive phrases such as “Secure early airdrop points,” “Multichain gas fee coverage,” and “Access to Launchpad & Get Drop.” These catchphrases aim to lure unsuspecting users into clicking a malicious link labeled “claim airdrop.”

The SHIB-affiliated account strongly warned the community to avoid clicking on these links, stressing that they are unsafe. Furthermore, the post highlighted additional red flags within the scam emails. Fraudsters often open their messages with “Hello Valued Customer” and send them from suspicious addresses like “noreply@resova.com.”

The SHIB team emphasized that users must remain vigilant when receiving investment or airdrop offers. They reminded the community of two critical safety principles. First, if an offer appears “too good to be true,” it likely is. Second, users should always verify the authenticity of messages through official channels before taking any action.
SHIB Burn Rate Surges Amid Scam Warning
While the scam alert circulated, the SHIB community also achieved a significant milestone in token burning. Data from Shibburn revealed that SHIB burns surged by 2,204.69% in the last 24 hours. This sharp rise resulted from the transfer of 3,579,805 SHIB tokens to unspendable blockchain wallets. Notably, a single transaction moved 3,285,714 SHIB to a dead-end wallet just nine hours ago.
Since the project’s inception in 2020, the SHIB army has burned a total of 410,751,445,214,265 SHIB tokens from its initial one quadrillion supply. This effort demonstrates the community’s commitment to reducing circulating supply, even as scams attempt to exploit crypto users.
