Shiba Inu (SHIB) lead developer Shytoshi Kusama has mentioned that the project’s layer-2 network, Shibarium, may be released in 2-4 months. This news relieves fans and users, as the launch has experienced multiple delays since its initial announcement.
Kusama stated that the current focus for the Shibarium network is building systems, and he may take on the role of “systems designer” in the future. According to the developer, this would involve tasks such as developing a ticket system, providing support, and facilitating onboarding.
Additionally, Kusama revealed that the team is working on the user interface (UI) for some “secret projects,” with surprises in store to assist businesses that are unfamiliar with the metaverse.
Originally slated for a 2022 release, Shiba Inu’s (SHIB) Shibarium network has experienced delays due to development challenges. However, with the beta testnet launched in March, fans hope the mainnet will follow soon. As per Kusama’s statement, Shibarium could launch between June and August.
Shiba Inu’s Shibarium Undergoes Stress Testing
The testnet of Shibarium experienced a notable surge of 86% in the number of wallet addresses. A member of Shib Pixel Pups disclosed that this surge resulted from a script specifically designed to stress test the network. The script generated over 9.5 million wallets on Puppynet and carried out over 3 million transactions on the beta network. As a result, the total number of addresses has now exceeded 13 million.

The user also disclosed that they generated approximately 1,620 tokens on the beta testnet, including Shib Pixel Pups DAO (SPPDAO) and Shib Pixel Pups Token (SPPX). The script’s purpose was to evaluate the scalability and effectiveness of the blockchain.
