Shiba Inu Not Among Top 10 Most Tweeted Coins In March: Has SHIB Momentum Stalled?

Shiba Inu Not Among Top 10 Most Tweeted Coins In March

Popular dog-themed meme coin, Shiba Inu (SHIB), has surprisingly missed out on the list of the most tweeted about crypto projects in March 2023.

Since coming to the limelight in August 2020,  Shiba Inu (SHIB) has been one of the strongest and most popular cryptocurrencies on social media, especially Twitter. The token was created as a decentralized alternative to Dogecoin, another meme-inspired cryptocurrency that gained significant attention in the crypto community.

After a fierce battle with Elon Musk-backed popular meme coin, Shiba Inu surpassed Dogecoin in terms of Twitter followers. While Dogecoin had a steadfast base of 3.1 million Twitter followers, the Dogecoin-killer outperformed Doge regarding ownership. At that time, SHIB had 3,441,762 followers, compared to Dogecoin’s 3,439,746. As a result, Dogecoin had 2,220 fewer Twitter followers than SHIB.

Shiba Inu Misses Out On Most Tweeted About Crypto

March was definitely not the best month for the crypto market but it saw several projects gradually resuscitate while others continue to grasp for air. Shiba Inu on the other hand has been on a rather steady level, trading between 0.000008 and 0.00001$ per coin.

Recent research by BitcoinKE revealed a drop in interest in the coin, especially among Twitter users. According to the list, the top 10 most tweeted about crypt projects included BTC, ETH, BNB and some others. It is also important to note that no memecoin featured among the top 10 list.

Has Shiba Inu’s Momentum Stalled?

Although cryptocurrency, among other things thrive on buzz and PR, the recent fall out of Shiba Inu on Twitter doesn’t strongly suggest doom for the project.

It is widely known that the Shiba Inu team has been actively working to bring their project to the forefront of the cryptocurrency space. One such effort is the introduction of a new layer-2 blockchain, called “Shibarium,” which has received significant attention despite some initial skepticism from industry insiders. The first beta, known as “Puppynet,” has been making waves in the crypto world and could potentially propel SHIB to new heights.

The SHIB community has even gone so far as to dub themselves the “Dogecoin Killer,” and with the launch of Shibarium on March 12th, the fervent beliefs of the SHIB Army may just come to fruition.

At the time writing, the live Shiba Inu price was is $0.000011 USD with a 24-hour trading volume of $182,911,446.
