Shytoshi Kusama, the lead developer of Shiba Inu, has classified all community members as belonging to the “Shiba Inu Defense Breed.” This move comes in response to a spreading campaign of fear, uncertainty, and doubt (FUD) that has been launched against the project. Using this label, Kusama emphasizes the importance of all community members working together to counteract any coordinated efforts to spread negative information about Shiba Inu.
There have been speculations that the code used for Shibarium is a duplicate of the existing code used by Rinia blockchain. This speculation has caused a coordinated FUD campaign to emerge within the Shiba Inu community. In response to this situation, Kusama has been urging community members to stand together and support the project as a whole. Kusama has emphasized the importance of collective solidarity in countering negative propaganda and protecting the project’s reputation.
Nevertheless, to effectively convey his message to the Shiba Inu community, Kusama has used his Twitter bio, which he frequently updates to highlight important points. By leveraging this social media platform, Kusama can reach a wide audience and communicate important information directly to community members in real-time.
Kusama has emphasized the importance of commitment to the mission of the Shiba Inu project, stating that those who fly the Shiba flag should not easily change their minds. This indicates that Kusama believes it is essential for members of the Shiba Inu community to remain loyal and resolute in supporting the project’s goals, even in the face of potential challenges or obstacles.
Communal Support is Needed
However, Kusama has announced that he now views all individuals of the Shiba Inu community as members of the Shiba Inu Defense Breed. By doing so, he is distributing the responsibility for defending the project equally among all community members rather than only the original Defense Breed. This signifies that Kusama is calling on the entire community to work together and take ownership of the task of protecting the Shiba Inu project from any negative campaigns or propaganda.

The Defense Breed was initially formed with twelve members from the Shiba Inu community and tasked with supporting the SHIB ecosystem. This involved a variety of responsibilities, including scrutinizing projects related to SHIB, debunking false rumors, and disseminating accurate and essential information to the community and the wider public. The Defense Breed was also charged with many other functions, all aimed at promoting the success of the SHIB ecosystem.

In the second blog post of his Shibarium series, Kusama spoke highly of the accomplishments of the Defense Breed. He explained that the team was disbanded because they had successfully secured several partnerships for the Shiba Inu project. Their exceptional efforts were no longer limited to being a “defense” team. Kusama praised the Defense Breed for their hard work and dedication, acknowledging that their efforts had contributed significantly to the growth and success of the project.
The developers of the Shiba Inu project have addressed the issue of Rinia code propaganda. A Rinia developer confirmed that the Shibarium team did not copy the Rinia code but used the same ChainID. This suggests that the concerns about Shibarium being a clone of Rinia’s blockchain code were unfounded and that there was with no actual copying of code involved. The Shiba Inu developers have taken steps to address these concerns and provide the community clarity regarding the situation.
