Shiba Inu [SHIB] is off to a good start in 2023. The network has finally revealed details about the long-awaited Shibarium update. Shibarium is expected to affect the SHIB ecosystem in various ways, including a possible price increase. The network was also welcoming new holders before this upgrade.
The total number of addresses in the Shiba Inu network plummeted near the end of 2022. However, this metric found some relief in the final week of December as more holders entered the ecosystem.
The total number of unique addresses in the Shiba Inu network reached a monthly high, as shown in the above chart. The SHIB ecosystem currently has 1,276,156 holders as of January 3.
It should also be noted that the number of SHIB holders peaked in November at 1,284,709. Given its current levels, the asset is expected to regain this level and even pass 1.3 million holders.
Almost 200 Million Shiba Inu Burned
Along with the increase in holder count, SHIB’s daily burn increased. Shibburn recently tweeted that a total of 182,339,090 SHIB tokens were sent to a dead wallet.

This is unquestionably a large number. However, the total value of these burned tokens was only $1,487. According to the Shibburn website, the two largest amounts of Shiba Inu destroyed in the last 24 hours were 73,996,550 meme coins burned 16 hours ago and 56,434,834 SHIB burned 14 hours ago.
Shibarium is expected to be released very soon. Following this, the meme cryptocurrency’s price will likely rise in the community.
