Shiba Inu lives up to its reputation as the ‘Dogecoin killer’ as it gathers more numbers. Shiba Inu has overseen an increase in the SHIBArmy community, especially on Twitter. So far, the total number of Twitter followers has now reached 3.3 million, which is equivalent to the number of people who follow the official Dogecoin account on Twitter.

Shiba Inu Wallet Holders on the Increase
While Shiba Inu stands toe-to-toe with Dogecoin on Twitter, Shiba Inu still has a long way to go before catching up with its closest rival and original memecoin, Dogecoin. According to data from WhaleStats, Dogecoin has over four million holders worldwide. On the other hand, Shiba Inu has just 1,163,683 wallet holders. However, this number has increased by 23,767 wallets since April.
Over the past few years, the growth in the number of Dogecoin holders has been driven by Elon Musk’s tweets in support of the largest meme cryptocurrency.
SHIB and DOGE Both Down 87% From Their All-Time Highs
Currently, these meme cryptocurrencies are experiencing a decline from their latest historic price peaks by the same percentage value.
Dogecoin reached an all-time high on May 8 last year, hitting $0.7376. However, the token is trading down 87.94% from that peak, fueled by Elon Musk’s appearance on U.S. national TV on Saturday Night Live, where he endorsed DOGE.
On the other hand, Shiba Inu grew by $0.00008845 on October 28, recording an all-time high. Now, it is changing hands at $0.0000123, which is down 86.03% from that value.
