Shiba Inu’s marketing lead, Lucie, recently addressed growing concerns about the lack of updates on SHIB: The Metaverse. According to Lucie, the team is intentionally withholding information to make the next revelation more impactful. She emphasized this with the phrase, “Nothing is Forgotten,” suggesting that the project remains a priority despite the silence.
Concerns Over Project’s Status
The last major update occurred in March 2024, when Lucie shared a sneak peek into the project’s progress. Since then, the community has received little information, sparking speculation that the team might have abandoned SHIB: The Metaverse. Lucie, however, dismissed these rumors in a recent X post, reassuring fans that the project is still very much alive.

For those unfamiliar, SHIB: The Metaverse aims to expand Shiba Inu’s ecosystem utility. Introduced in 2021 alongside other Shiba Inu projects, it saw significant advancements the following year. These included the sale of 100,595 plots of land within the metaverse. Moreover, the team brought on entertainment veteran Marcie Jastrow as the project’s advisor. Jastrow has actively promoted the project at various events, such as the 2023 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference and the 2023 South by Southwest (SXSW) festival.
Project Developments And Promises
The team also unveiled concepts for different hubs within the metaverse. Last year, they promised users partial access to the project by December 2023. However, there has been no official update regarding this development. Earlier this year, Lucie revealed that users of SHIB: The Metaverse would earn the upcoming TREAT token by performing certain tasks.
