RippleX has officially rolled out version 2.5.0 of its core software, Rippled, marking one of the most significant updates to the XRP Ledger to date. Developers have labeled this release as the “strongest single lineup of amendments” ever included in one upgrade. This is not just a routine software patch; it introduces long-anticipated features and critical fixes that significantly improve the network’s efficiency and usability.
Brad Garlinghouse Applauds the Development Team
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse didn’t stay silent on the update. He publicly praised the engineering team’s effort, calling it a moment of “huge progress” for the XRP Ledger. His endorsement reflects the growing excitement around the network’s increasing capabilities.
Among the headline features is TokenEscrow, which now enables escrow functions for IOUs and multi-purpose tokens. This enhancement expands the flexibility of token transactions on the ledger. Meanwhile, the new Batch feature allows developers to group and execute multiple transactions simultaneously. This addition simplifies the execution of complex dApp operations, making development faster and more efficient.
New Features Boost Compliance and Security
RippleX also introduced PermissionedDEX, which allows for compliant decentralized exchanges through access control. This could appeal to institutions seeking regulatory clarity. Additionally, PermissionDelegation lets users safely delegate account permissions. This function supports multi-user wallets and automates account-related tasks, boosting security and flexibility.

Beyond new tools, the upgrade improves overall performance. RippleX tightened relay logic, enforced stricter RPC behavior, and enhanced transaction throughput. It also streamlined validator message handling. Furthermore, the team dropped support for outdated compilers and adopted modern build systems, simplifying development for contributors.
With these amendments now open for voting, RippleX urges validators to upgrade promptly. The network requires at least 80% validator approval sustained over two weeks for full activation. This collective effort will ensure the XRP Ledger continues evolving without compromising decentralization or speed.
