Over 329 Million Shiba Inu Burned in a Week as Team Issues Urgent Scam Alert

329 Million SHIB Burned in One Week as Scam Warning Hits SHIB Army

The Shiba Inu ecosystem witnessed an extraordinary burn activity last week, with over 329 million SHIB tokens removed from circulation. At the same time, Shiba Inu’s official marketing lead, Lucie, issued a stern warning to the community about the growing threat of scams within the crypto space.

SHIB Burn Rate Surges by Over 385%

According to data from wallet tracker Shibburn, the Shiba Inu community burned a total of 329,633,128 SHIB in the past seven days. This massive reduction in supply caused the weekly SHIB burn rate to soar by 358.82%, marking one of the most aggressive burn cycles in recent months.

The largest single burn within this period saw 263,709,608 SHIB sent to a dead wallet just seven days ago. Two significant transactions burned 15,695,312 and 16,537,925 SHIB, respectively.

Despite the weekly surge, the daily burn rate has dropped sharply, falling by 97.49%. However, the community still recalls a remarkable single-day spike of 468,968% when members collectively burned 18,851,865 SHIB.

At present, SHIB’s circulating supply stands at 584.42 trillion tokens, while the community has successfully burned over 410.74 trillion SHIB from the original 1 quadrillion supply.

A large chunk of this historic burn happened in May 2021, when Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin burned 500 trillion SHIB sent to him by the mysterious Shiba Inu founder, Ryoshi.

Lucie Warns SHIB Army: Stay Safe from Scams

As SHIB activity heats up, so do threats targeting its community. Lucie, the SHIB ecosystem’s marketing lead, recently addressed the SHIB Army on X to raise awareness about scams.

She stressed the importance of caution, noting that fraudulent projects, fake giveaways, and impersonators often surface during heightened community engagement.

Lucie urged the community to remain sceptical of anyone claiming affiliation with the SHIB team, especially when wallet connections or personal data are involved. She also advised avoiding shady websites and verifying any new SHIB-related tokens or promotions before taking action.

Final Thoughts: SHIB Burns Fuel Hope, But Security Comes First

The SHIB community’s consistent effort to reduce token supply reflects a shared commitment to long-term growth. While this past week’s 385% burn rate spike is a bullish sign, Lucie’s warning is a timely reminder: Security must remain a top priority.

As SHIB’s popularity grows, combining burn initiatives and community vigilance will ensure the project’s resilience and success.
