Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has asserted and decried harsh views of the Cardano network held by many in the Ethereum community in a nine-tweet thread today.
“There is this bizarre parallel world where everything Cardano has done is a useless scam that couldn’t possibly be innovative,” Hoskinson tweeted. “Rather we are a cult beholden to an evil, sociopathic, but incompetent pathological lying founder who somehow has stumbled upon stolen success, but will be in jail any moment now when the world wakes up. It would be offensive if it wasn’t so batshit crazy.”
Hoskinson believes it is only fair and healthy for networks to investigate differences in protocol design. He claims, however, that core Ethereum developers have made a point of ignoring Cardano or refusing to speak objectively about it.
In response to what he sees as unnecessary tension and competition in the crypto space, the Cardano founder asserted once more that Cardano would change the world.
“… But, in the end, I believe none will matter because we are going to change the world.”
According to Hoskinson, the network has the potential to attract billions of users without requiring maximalists to convert Bitcoin or Ethereum.
“The reality is that Cardano doesn’t need cryptocurrency to be successful in order to succeed. Mass adoption hasn’t happened yet, and we can grow to billions, Of users without poaching a single one from Bitcoin or Ethereum.”
He went on to say that the cryptocurrency community treats Cardano unfairly.
“I’m sorry that our industry sometimes acts this way; our community does not deserve it.”
Unsurprisingly, Hoskinson’s viewpoints were widely supported by the Cardano community. However, Ethereum supporters such as Anthony Sassano, co-founder of EthHub and founder of The Daily Gwei, mocked Hoskinson, implying that the Cardano founder is desperate for Vitalik Buterin’s attention.
It is worth noting that the Cardano network successfully completed its most significant upgrade to date, the Vasil hard fork, about a week after Ethereum completed The Merge. In today’s thread, Hoskinson claims that the network will significantly improve governance and user experience next year.
“We’ll make our biggest contributions to governance and user experience next year.” “We’ll do it together,” Cardano’s creator wrote.
Hoskinson has relentlessly criticised the Ethereum proof-of-stake (PoS) model in the days since The Merge, dubbing the network the “Hotel California of crypto.”
