Shiba Inu’s use in payments has been strengthened by Guarda, a leading non-custodial wallet, by adding SHIB to its list of supported assets for prepaid Visa cards. Shiba Inu lovers can now make purchases at more than 60 million merchants that accept Visa by using SHIB.
Shiba Inu enthusiasts were urged to top up their Guarda prepaid Visa cards with the canine-themed cryptocurrency, according to a statement released by Guarda on December 15.
It is important to note that Shiba Inu is not the only cryptocurrency added to the list of approved assets for Guarda’s prepaid Visa card. Dogecoin (DOGE), Binance USD (BUSD), Aave (AAVE), Cosmos (ATOM), and DAI stablecoins are among other cryptocurrencies that have recently been added to the list. The firm added that the prepaid Visa card now supports more than 20 cryptocurrencies.
Guarda Prepaid Visa Card
It’s relevant to note that the Guarda Prepaid Visa card was launched on August 14, 2022. Guarda stated that its crypto cards may be used to pay in any platform or online store that accepts Visa.
“Guarda Wallet is thrilled to announce the release of its own prepaid Visa card. You can use this card anywhere Visa is accepted, which means you can use it for online shopping, in-store purchases, and much more,” the company noted.
Both physical and virtual versions of the Guarda crypto card are available.
Customers can generate a virtual card through the Guarda app and as well request a physical card that will be delivered to the customer’s address on request.
Shiba Inu Used as Means of Payments
However, SHIB’s use for payment is growing significantly. Recall that several cryptocurrency companies, such as BitPay and Binance, have already launched support for Shiba Inu to allow members of the community to pay for goods and services using SHIB.
Fxcryptonews revealed that SHIB users can use cryptocurrency to pay for online services from reputable vendors including Namecheap, HOSTKEY, and Vultr. Additionally, thanks to BitPay, businesses may pay their workers in Shiba Inu as well.
