According to IOG, users will be prompted to update their wallet via the Daedalus newsfeed. Meanwhile, new users should only download from the official website.
The Daedalus Wallet
Daedalus is a desktop-only wallet, as stated by IOG, and mobile wallets claiming to be Daedalus wallets are fraudulent.
It’s worth noting that the latest update arrives a little more than a month after the previous one. Notably, Daedalus 5.0.0 was released on September 8th, supporting node 1.35.3 and thus offering Vasil compatibility while addressing three major issues with the previous version.

It is worth noting that the latest upgrade has been met with mixed reactions from the community. While some have praised the hardware wallet integration features, others have pointed out that certain bugs with the wallet have yet to be resolved.
Notably, IOG CEO Charles Hoskinson suggested in a YouTube video last month that the network may abandon official wallets. Instead, according to the Cardano CEO, the network will likely enter a phase in which standards are developed, resulting in certified wallets versus non-certified wallets.
