American Fitness Company, Equinox Now Accepts Dogecoin (DOGE) and Shiba Inu (SHIB) As a Means of Payment

Bitcoin Pioneer Claims He'd Trade ADA for Shiba Inu and Dogecoin

Popular New York-based American fitness company Equinox Group has announced that their customers can now pay for services using Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Dogecoin (DOGE).

The company reported on its website via a recent article labeled “New York: Pay With Crypto” that it has partnered with popular cryptocurrency payment gateway BitPay for the initiative.

Following this announcement, all New York-based members of Equinox Group can now pay for different services offered by the fitness company using both Dogecoin and SHIB.

Other Cryptocurrencies Supported by Equinox

Note that the two popular memecoins are not the only cryptocurrency Equinox Group is adopting into their digital payment system.

Members can also pay for services with other cryptocurrencies supported by BitPay, such as Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH), Ethereum (ETH), Litecoin (LTC), Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC), and five different stablecoins.

Terms of Service

Meanwhile, before a client can pay for fitness services at Equinox Group in the city of New York, the customer must obtain a pre-approved BitPay ID from the BitPay official website.

Equinox Group also announced that customers who use this crypto payment service must know that the exchange rate between selected cryptocurrencies and the United States Dollars is locked for 15 minutes only and can be subject to changes afterwards.

“Equinox and BitPay are not responsible for any exchange rate changes when payment is not completed within the initial 15-minute period or in connection with any refund permitted by the terms of your Equinox membership agreement,” the company said.

Also, customers who, after making payments using memecoins, demand a refund will be refunded in the U.S. value that was locked in at the time of their purchase.

Growing Adoption of Shiba Inu and Dogecoin Payments

The latest development marks another landmark in the increasing adoption of Shiba Inu and Dogecoin in payments.

As per recent reports, at least ten publicly-listed companies, including Tesla and Dallas Mavericks, accept Dogecoin as a payment method.

Similarly, Shiba Inu lovers can now buy burgers and sandwiches from Naples-based restaurant Welly using SHIB.
