4 Million Cardano Wallets: How the Network Achieved a Milestone Despite the Banking Crisis

Cardano Surprises Traders as ADA Price Rises 11% Amid Sell-Off

During March 2023, Cardano saw a surge of almost 50,000 new addresses, which propelled the blockchain to surpass 4 million total wallets. This growth has been driven by heightened engagement from retail investors and businesses utilizing the network. As a result of this uptick in new addresses, the price of ADA has surged by almost 17% over the past two weeks, rising from $0.30 to a high of $0.38 earlier this month.

Currently, the total number of wallets on the Cardano blockchain has surpassed 4 million, reaching a current count of 4,011,653. The network has witnessed significant growth recently, with 166,689 new wallets in 2023, resulting in heightened activity and transactions by large investors and retail users. In January, the network added 54,050 new wallets, while February saw an increase of 63,639 addresses, per Cardano Blockchain Insights data. With this momentum, it is possible that the network could continue to experience growth in the coming months.

Where Next for Cardano?

Cryptocurrency analyst Alexander Legolas has predicted that Cardano’s achievement of reaching 4 million wallets could potentially lead to a bull run. Legolas pointed out that Ethereum and BNB experienced a notable price surge after reaching the same milestone in July 2017 and February 2021, respectively.

Although both ETH and BNB experienced a surge in value upon reaching 4 million wallets, it’s worth noting that these milestones were achieved during a bullish market. In contrast, Cardano’s achievement comes when the financial markets are impacted by the banking crisis, rising inflation, and interest rate hikes. As a result, it’s uncertain whether ADA can replicate the same rally level as ETH and BNB in their previous milestones. It may be challenging for Cardano to reach similar record-breaking levels under the current market conditions.

As of the time of writing, ADA is trading at $0.3746, which indicates a 2.65% decline in the 24-hour trading period. Furthermore, it’s worth noting that ADA is trading 87.86% lower than its all-time high of $3.09, achieved in September 2021.
